Healthcare and Social Service Referrals

An important part of WIC services is referrals! Referrals to healthcare and other social services are identified and given as a result of a completed WIC assessment.

Examples of different types of referrals are breastfeeding, childcare, dental care, domestic violence, child abuse, food assistance, financial assistance, health care, HIV/AIDS, housing assistance, immunizations, lead poisoning/prevention, legal assistance, smoking cessation, and vocational and educational assistance.
